Dominations/Dominions

Domination/Dominion - in Greek  Kyriotes (sing) and Kyriotetes (pl.). The word implies: lordship, constituted authority or sovereignty. The source word Kyrios is used in the Greek translation of the Old Testament known as the Septuagint to refer to God at the places where The Name of God (YHWH), which the Jews would not pronounce, appears. In the New Testament "Jesus is Kyrios," and while for a Greek this could be a human master, for a Jew this could only mean God (Jn 20:28). Elizabeth thus calls Mary the Mother of my Kyrios (Lk. 1:43, 45), that is, the Mother of God.

Ephes. 1:21
    far above every principality, power, virtue, and dominion, and every name that is named not only in this age but also in the one to come.

Col. 1:16
    For in him were created all things in heaven and on earth,
        the visible and the invisible,
        whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers;
        all things were created through him and for him.

Ephes. 1

    Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, to the holy ones who are (in Ephesus) faithful in Christ Jesus: [2] grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
    [3] Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavens, [4] as he chose us in him, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and without blemish before him. In love [5] he destined us for adoption to himself through Jesus Christ, in accord with the favor of his will, [6] for the praise of the glory of his grace that he granted us in the beloved.
    [7] In him we have redemption by his blood, the forgiveness of transgressions, in accord with the riches of his grace [8] that he lavished upon us. In all wisdom and insight, [9] he has made known to us the mystery of his will in accord with his favor that he set forth in him [10] as a plan for the fullness of times, to sum up all things in Christ, in heaven and on earth.
    [11] In him we were also chosen, destined in accord with the purpose of the one who accomplishes all things according to the intention of his will, [12] so that we might exist for the praise of his glory, we who first hoped in Christ. [13] In him you also, who have heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and have believed in him, were sealed with the promised holy Spirit, [14] which is the first installment of our inheritance toward redemption as God's possession, to the praise of his glory.
    [15] Therefore, I, too, hearing of your faith in the Lord Jesus and of your love for all the holy ones, [16] do not cease giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, [17] that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation resulting in knowledge of him. [18] May the eyes of (your) hearts be enlightened, that you may know what is the hope that belongs to his call, what are the riches of glory in his inheritance among the holy ones, [19] and what is the surpassing greatness of his power for us who believe, in accord with the exercise of his great might, [20] which he worked in Christ, raising him from the dead and seating him at his right hand in the heavens, [21] far above every principality, power, virtue and dominion, and every name that is named not only in this age but also in the one to come. [22] And he put all things beneath his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church, [23] which is his body, the fullness of the one who fills all things in every way.

Col. 1
    Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, [2] to the holy ones and faithful brothers in Christ in Colossae: grace to you and peace from God our Father.
    [3] We always give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, [4] for we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and the love that you have for all the holy ones [5] because of the hope reserved for you in heaven. Of this you have already heard through the word of truth, the gospel, [6] that has come to you. Just as in the whole world it is bearing fruit and growing, so also among you, from the day you heard it and came to know the grace of God in truth, [7] as you learned it from Epaphras our beloved fellow slave, who is a trustworthy minister of Christ on your behalf [8] and who also told us of your love in the Spirit.
    [9] Therefore, from the day we heard this, we do not cease praying for you and asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding [10] to live in a manner worthy of the Lord, so as to be fully pleasing, in every good work bearing fruit and growing in the knowledge of God, [11] strengthened with every power, in accord with his glorious might, for all endurance and patience, with joy [12] giving thanks to the Father, who has made you fit to share in the inheritance of the holy ones in light. [13] He delivered us from the power of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, [14] in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

    [15] He is the image of the invisible God,
        the firstborn of all creation.
    [16] For in him were created all things in heaven and on earth,
        the visible and the invisible,
        whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers;
        all things were created through him and for him.
    [17] He is before all things,
        and in him all things hold together.
    [18] He is the head of the body, the church.
        He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead,
        that in all things he himself might be preeminent.
    [19] For in him all the fullness was pleased to dwell,
    [20] and through him to reconcile all things for him,
        making peace by the blood of his cross
        (through him), whether those on earth or those in heaven.
